Description
We have a Factory Copy of an English Translation by John Baum of an original WW2 German Manual for the MG34 dated 8-1-1941. This manual is titled: H. Dv.181/6 Inspection and Repair Of The Infantry Devices Part 6 Inspection and Repair Of The M.G. From 8-1-1941 Berlin 1941. This manual is 5 1/2" by 8 1/2", 40 pages long, softbound, and is the closest thing to an Armorer's Manual for the MG that we have ever seen. It is very detailed in how to keep your MG- running. It has no pictures but it will tell you what can go wrong with the MG , and how to fix it. This manual covers the less technical gun mechanic repair explaining maintenance that would be done in the local gun workshop. Guns needing repairs that are beyond the scope of this manual were to be sent to the Authorized Army Field troop Repair Workshop wherever that was. This manual does cover most of the common repairs for the MG including spring tension specs for the recoil and firing pin springs, and the repairs that most commonly appear. The first 7 pages are a general explanation of procedures, most of the remainder of the manual is a table detailing causes, remedies and specs for the repairs. This manual contains information that simply isn't in any other manual and is without a doubt worth the knowledge. This manual assumes you have a working knowledge of the MG and know the names of the parts and how it all goes together. This MG repair manual does not have information about how to disassemble and assemble the MG, or how the gun operates. This probably should not be your first MG manual. This manual is broken down into the following chapters: 1. Preliminary Remarks, 2. In General. 3. Inspection, regular and special, Inspection after decreased shooting performance, inspection after the appearance of troubles during shooting, inspection after the appearance of failures. 4. Extraordinary inspection, 5. Repairs, in general, in detail, barrel with barrel extension, barrel jacket with flash hider and sight assembly, receiver, cover with feeder, bolt with recoil spring, grip, base piece with rubber and buttstock, bipod, carring strap, Fault Index, Burst Fire for checking the speed of the M.G. , Examination of the M. G. for misfires. This highly detailed war time manual could take even the novice and make him an expert on fixing the MG-. Buyer is to pay for the shipping charges!!!!!!!!
