This is a Hand Oil Painted Maltese Dog on Duty Wooden Yard Sign.
The sign has a great looking rendition of a cute dog that we believe is a Maltese.  The DOG ON DUTY slogan is hand cut as individual letters using a jigsaw or similar.  The back side is simply painted solid in the off-white background color used for the dog.
The piece is not signed.  I do not see any specific evident of this being a commercially made piece but I do not know for sure if it is a commercial import or if it is a one-of-a-kind folk art piece made in the US.  In any case, it is a great looking piece for Maltese owner.  We do not know when the sign was made.
The sign is made from 1/2" plywood with a pointed pine stake for mounted the sign securely in your yard.  The sign alone is 13" tall with a maximum width at the base of 11".  The stake extends 11" past the sign, plenty to hold the sign securely.
This piece woudl be great for a Maltese lover / owner to use in the yard, or to help stake out some territory for your setup at an outdoor dog show.

The sign is in  excellent condition.
